What is the Fashion Careers Clinic?

  • The Fashion Careers Clinic is an independent careers advice service specifically for fashion, textiles, and accessories designers who are looking for some guidance in finding their next (or first!) job in design
  • We assist everyone from under graduates, new graduates and junior designers, through to people with many years of industry experience
  • Our services for designers include one to one consultations, CV writing, portfolio reviews, and email and phone support (our HELP DESK service)
  • We also work with further education colleges and universities, where we hold lectures and work shops on a variety of topics, from portfolio presentation to interview technique

cross THE FASHION CAREERS CLINIC IS PUBLISHING A BOOK!

We are currently in the process of writing a careers advice book for students who are still at high school, 6th form or college, focused on providing inside information on what it's really like to work in fashion.  There will be over 20 job profiles, covering roles in design, media, technical and business, together with information on education and work experience.  We have been conducting market research with students from across the UK to find out their queries and concerns related to a career in fashion, and have taken those questions to be answered by top industry insiders, including employees from River Island, Liberty, Topshop, DKNY, Lulu Guinness and Versace.  'How To Prepare For A Career In Fashion' will be published by Adelita Ltd in September 2010, priced at £12.99.  The FCC can now assist fashion marketing professionals!

The Fashion Careers Clinic predominantly assists fashion designers in their job searches, however we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Eaton, who will be joining the team to provide assistance for candidates who are looking to work within fashion marketing, promotion and branding.  With 10 years of industry experience, most recently as Marketing Manager with Sonneti, Jo brings a wealth of knowledge to the Clinic and is now available for one to one consultations and lectures.  To arrange a one to one appointment with Jo, please email jo@fashioncareersclinic.com
